There are many arguments that speak for zirconia. |

DeguDent’s high-performance zirconia ceramics meets the needs and wishes of an increasing number of today’s discriminating patients, dentists and dental technicians. Besides having enormous strength, zirconia also naturally meets the most exalted demands with regard to aesthetics and biocompatibility. In this way, the zirconia framework material, Cercon base, was designed to match the veneering ceramics, Cercon ceram S, to create units with properties – including translucency and light dynamics – that are nearly identical with those of the natural tooth. |

Zirconia has fascinating properties that have already made it the material of choice for a very diverse range of application in industry, but also in the medical field – for example for artificial hip joints. For example, if a crack develops, this material responds with a micro-structural transformation of its crystalline structure, resulting in a strong level of resistance to further propagation of the crack – this is called the crack closure effect. In addition, zirconia is the only highstrength structural ceramic material that is strong enough to reliably withstand masticatory forces of 800 – 900 N that regularly occur in the posterior region. This means that thanks to Cercon, all-ceramic restoration can now become one of the standard treatment adjuncts you offer. |
